In Loving Memory of Madeline Anita Barber
Madeline was born on October 8, 1940 in Unity, Saskatchewan and after a lengthy illness she died at home in Clearwater, British Columbia on October 24, 2016.
Madeline is survived by her husband Lawrence Barber of Clearwater, BC; daughters Brenda Barber of Clearwater and Debi Ormondy (Randy) of Clearwater; grandchildren Christopher Ludtke (Khaye) of Calgary, Alberta, Jasmine Ludtke of Clearwater, BC, Cara Streeter (Mathew) of Kingston, NS, Aaron Ludtke (Tasha) of Clearwater, Micheal Ormondy (Sherrelle) of Sicamous, BC, Amanda Ormondy (Jamieson) of Revelstoke, BC, and Jenna Ormondy of Clearwater; great grandchildren Jackson, Alexis, Everette, Jade, Marley and Ember; sisters Julia Solomon of Unity SK and Annie Kammerer of Unity SK; brother-in-law Gerald Barber (Janice) of Dryden, Ontario; nieces Beverly Kenyon of Nanaimo, BC, Sheila Dyck of Unity SK, Marsha Shurman of Denzil SK, Thelma Hayward of Unity SK, and Corrine (Larry) Thalheimer of Unity SK. Madeline was predeceased by her mother Mary Gottinger, father Carl Kammerer, sister Edith Olsen, brother William Kammerer, brother-in-law Richard Barber and nephew Kent Barber.
Mom enjoyed her career serving others as a cashier in the local Safety Mart for over 25 years. Her passions included her love of gardening and preserving food for the winter. Her weekly routine for many years included playing Bingo with her many friends. She was quite fond of lottery tickets! Family dinners were always well attended with children and grandchildren. Madeline was an excellent cook.
Madeline’s family in Unity SK played an important role in her life. Many trips back to Saskatchewan were made to visit her family and enjoy family gatherings. Madeline created many fond memories in Unity and had lots of stories to share of “the good old days.”
