After a short battle with cancer, Ken Wells of Valemount, BC passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC. He was 47 years of age. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Ken is survived by his wife, Jody Muttitt of Valemount; mother Anne Wells of Prince Alberta, SK; daughter Tanya Paul of Muskoday, SK; son Anthony Wells of Kelowna, BC; grandchildren Connor, Jaime-Avery, Jaden and Ethan; aunty & grama Chrystal Wells; mother-in-law Shirley Tourand; sisters Brenda (Peter) Cochlin and Sandy (Dave) Hadlow; brother Myron Wells; nieces Krystal & Karla-Ann Hadlow and Kelsey Wells; sisters-in-law Corena Fairclough and nephews William, Bryce and Barrett; and Tina (Greg) Rilcoe and nephews Kristopher and Kyle. Ken sends his love to his mentors: Lyle Dafoe, Bob and Lorna Griffin, Brad and Gordy Elliott, Gerald Craig, Norm and Cyndy Pedersen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ski-Lumber, as well as to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and valuable friends. Ken was predeceased by his father, Lloyd Wells of Saskatchewan.
A journeyman “Red” certified seal chef, a mechanic, woodworker, landscaper and shake blocker, Ken was truly a jack-of-all-trades. As hobbies, Ken enjoyed gold panning, getting firewood, fishing, and repairing small motors. Ken will always be associated with Quesnel Forks, which was a ghost town before Barkerville, BC. He became the “Mayor of Quesnel Forks”, and was the only known man to survive the winter there.
A Memorial Service for Ken Wells will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Wells Gray Inn, Clearwater, BC. Donations in Ken’s name to the Clearwater or Valemount Food Bank would be appreciated.Print This Obituary & Condolences
