Robert Fredrick Doucette (A.K.A Fred, Freddie, Dad, Grandpa or Great-Grandpa Fred) was born in Charlottetown, PEI on February 22, 1934 and left this world 11 ½ hours before his 80th birthday Feb 22, 2014, in Abbotsford, BC. He will be remembered by all for different reasons but who can forget some of the unique phrases you only ever heard HIM say:
You’re an hour late and a buck short; What’s for duff?; I’m telling Mom on you; Aw nertz!! Ain’t it a great game (when he was winning at Crazy Bridge).
He wouldn’t have wanted any formal obituary written about him so it has been decided instead to post a poem that he wrote himself a few years ago:
Thanks for the thoughts you expressed, in your poem
They’ll remain, with me always where ‘ere, I may roam.
So that, where I am or wherever, you be
Be assured, dear family you’ll be always, with me.
While alive, on this Earth and though, I depart
Either way, I can say you’ll remain, in my heart.
So may God Bless, and keep you, every hour, of each day,
Till He calls you, to Heaven where I’ll greet you, I pray.
I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.Print This Obituary & Condolences
